Aix-in-Provence:

hôtel de Valbelle, hôtel Aillaud, hôtel de Nibles, hôtel Guiran de la Brillanne, hôtel city hall, the visitation chapel, hôtel de Gras are among the most notorious ancient buildings of Aix-en-Provence.

The front door of 'hôtel de Valbelle' in Aix en Provence, street Mignet with its lintel  dominated by a lion's head. The door's top part allowed high horse-drawn carriage to step in.

The young girl' sculpture welcomes the visitor of 'hôtel Ailhaud' street Mignet. The door is dated back to Louis XV. The girl is smiling. A wooden lion's head decorates the front door. A four leaf clover adorns the lower part of the front door as a sign of wealth, fame, love and health. Notice the couple Hercule and Diana as a hint of strenght and grace. The gilt bronze knobs adorn this typical Provence front door.

To the left, the horns of plenty, as a call for endless wealth and at the bottom a chain of oak leaves symbol of strength.

Hôtel Simiane de Lacépède shows a nice door on 6 Chastel street. Hôtel Bonnet de La Baume hosted Dr. Goyrand famous physician opposed to Dupuytren, owns a shaded private square protected by plane trees common in the Aix surroundings.

At the corner of Delphin' square a charming virgin with infant in an alcove.

The square of hôtel Boyer d'Eguilles near Albertas square is dated back to XVII century. Tables are placed there by Aroma Zone and invites for a break in the shade. 

The door of hôtel Forbin on the Mirabeau course is nowadays a bank office. The mansion was the homestay to famous visitors among whom Pauline Borghese sister of Napoleon.

Aix-en-Provence  is filled with Virgin Mary with Christ child at the corner of streets. The pictured one can be seen near Preacher square and was pictured in the morning sun light. 

Hotel d'Arbaud was built in 1670 by Jean-Claude Rambot. The two atlantes on each side of the green door look at each other and smile. 

Hotel de Ponteves is now the sit of the trade courthouse of Aix-en-Provence and the huge caryatide on each side of the door impress the visitor. 

On number  14 of Mirabeau c course the door of hotel Fauris de Saint Vincens is beautifully sculpted and adorned with flowers.
